RUTH 4:17, 22 AMP
“The neighbor women gave him a name, saying, “A son (grandson) has been born to Naomi.” They named him Obed (worshiper). He is the father of Jesse, the father of David [the ancestor of Jesus Christ]. Obed the father of Jesse, and Jesse the father of David [the king of Israel and the ancestor of Jesus Christ].”
The book of Ruth is communicating to us that in spite of all the mistakes, blunders, heartaches, problems and difficulties of life, God is continually at work, guiding, governing, and controlling all our days. We have seen this fascinating truth illustrated in the life of the little family who, after leaving Bethlehem during a time of famine, made their way to Moab where they were met with tragedy and disappointment. When, at last, Naomi, the only survivor from that original family, returned to Bethlehem in the company of her daughter-in-law, Ruth, we discover that God is able to turn mourning into dancing, disappointment into delight and evil into good.
There is nothing negative, miserable or sorrowful that God cannot overturn. Like Ruth, learn to anchor your faith God, partner with His people and wait for His time.
God is able to make a message out your mess and a testimony out your test. Never forget that Christ, our heavenly Kinsman-Redeemer has redeemed us and given us His identity and an inheritance in Him. Surely the book of Ruth reveal so much to us of the goodness and sovereignty of God. God’s way is always the best; take it and you will obtain His blessings. May your story turn out to be pleasant like Naomi and Ruth.
SHALOM: God’s all encompassing blessings to you.
