“But love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; for your reward will be great (rich, abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High; because He Himself is kind and gracious and good to the ungrateful and the wicked.”

Jesus teaches that true kindness is not based on convenience or reciprocity. Kingdom kindness is strongest when it is hardest to give. This reflects God, who shows kindness even to those who reject Him.

Application might look like:

•Being respectful to someone difficult.

•Helping someone who cannot repay you.

•Choosing peace instead of proving a point.

Ask yourself today: Where is God calling me to show costly kindness?

•Easy kindness is natural; costly kindness is spiritual maturity.

•Kindness breaks cycles of offence.

I choose kindness even when it is not returned.

Father, strengthen me to show kindness even in difficult moments. Let my life reflect Your mercy. Amen.

I overcome negativity through consistent kindness.
