PSALM 123:3

“Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.”

💭THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

No matter what others say or how they treat me, I can stand because God’s mercy holds me up.

📖 LORD, HAVE MERCY

The psalmist repeats the cry for mercy, showing complete dependence on God. Surrounded by contempt, he doesn’t fight back but lifts his eyes to the Lord.
We also face ridicule, rejection, and weakness. Our hope is not in ourselves but in God’s mercy, which sustains us and teaches us to extend mercy to others.

GOLD NUGGETS

1. God’s mercy is greater than man’s contempt.
2.When the world looks down, God looks with compassion.
3.Mercy is our shield against the sting of scorn.
4.The more we feel rejected, the more we must lean on God’s mercy.

PRAYER:

Lord, have mercy on me today. When I feel the sting of scorn, remind me that Your compassion is greater. Help me walk in Your mercy and share it with others. Amen.
