“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.””

The word redemption means to purchase, buy back or to loose. Now, look again at the cross of Calvary. If anyone should have paid the penalty for our sin, it ought to have been ourselves. However, Christ took our place. He redeemed us. The method which Christ took to redeem us from the curse of the law: “Being made sin for us, he was made a curse for us.” The design of this was that the blessing of Abraham might come to us (Gentiles) through Jesus Christ so that all who believed in Christ, whether Jews or Gentiles, might become heirs of Abraham’s blessing, and particularly of that great promise of the Spirit. The happy prospect which we now have through Christ is that by his death we are now free from the debt of sin and the curse of the law. We are now justified – declared not guilty. In other words there are no legal indebtedness against us. We are no longer alienated from God but instead we have been reconciled to him. These words of Apostle Paul perhaps fits as a summary of the blessing we have received: “For he [Christ]has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins (Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬).” Hallelujah  We have been set free. Glory be to our Lord. SHALOM: God’s all encompassing blessings to you
