Learn to live above your circumstances. This requires focused time with Jesus, the One who overcame the world. Trouble and distress are woven into the very fabric of this perishing world. The word – tribulation, (thlipsis in Greek), implies pressure, oppression, stress, anguish, tribulation, adversity, affliction, crushing, squashing, squeezing and distress. Imagine placing your hand on a stack of loose items and manually compressing them. The word is used of crushing grapes or olives in a press. Only Jesus’s life in us can empower us to face this endless flow of tribulations. As we sit quietly in his presence, he shines his peace into our troubled mind and heart and are frees us from earthly shackles and lift us up above our circumstances.
