LAMENTATIONS 3:24-26 NIV
“I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”

Waiting on God means directing our attention to him in hopeful anticipation of what he will do. It entails trusting him with every fiber of your being instead of trying to figure things out yourself. Waiting on God is the way he has designed us to live daily. He created us to stay conscious of him as we go about your daily duties. “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; … (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV).” He has promised many blessings to those who wait on him. “ … those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be fainted (Isaiah 40:31 NIV).” Waiting on him enables us to glorify him by living in deep dependence on him. It also helps us to enjoy him. The Psalmist said: “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” Psalms 16:11 NIV).” May the joy of the Lord flood our hearts as we meditate on these words.
