PHILIPPIANS 4:4 AMP
“Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, take pleasure in Him]; again I will say, rejoice!”
GOLD NUGGETS
Paul exhorts us to a “holy” joy and delight in God. All our joy must terminate in God; and our thoughts of God must be delightful thoughts.
The Psalmist noted, “Delight yourself in the Lord, … (Psalms 37:4 AMP).” It is our duty and privilege to rejoice in God, and to rejoice in him always; at all times, in all conditions; even when we suffer for him, or are afflicted by him. We must not think the worse of him or of his ways for the hardships we meet with in his service. There is enough in God to spark joy in us even in the worst circumstance on earth. Paul had said it before (Phil. 3:1): Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. In today’s text he says it again, Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say Rejoice. Joy in God is a duty of great consequence in the Christian life; and Christians need to be called to it again and again. Don’t just rejoice in the Lord but also be thankful. As you journey through this day, practice trusting and thanking God all along the way. Trust is the channel through which his Peace flows into your life. Thankfulness lifts you up above your circumstances. God performs his greatest works through people with grateful and trusting hearts. Rather than planning and evaluating, practice trusting and thanking him continually. This is a paradigm shift that will revolutionise your life. Have a blessed day. SHALOM: God’s all encompassing blessings to you.
