PROVERBS 3:5 AMP
“Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.”
GOLD NUGGETS
According to Rabbi Bar Kappa, the verse before us today “is the pivot around which all the essential principles of Judaism revolve”. He asserts that these words summarise the teaching of the entire Old Testament He further stated that the text gives a clear focus to the fact that the wise are those who trust God and follow His directions for living. What exactly is “trust” and how important is trust to daily living? Trust is defined as “a firm belief in the reliability, honesty, veracity, justice and strength of a person or thing”. In other words “trust” an assured reliance on the character, ability, strength or truth of someone or something. Trust is and must become an essential posture of life for everyone. It would be very difficult to get through a single day without the exercise of trust. All government, all economics, all institutions, all marriages, all relationships between people, are fundamentally governed by trust. We cannot relate well to God or others unless the capacity to trust is present within us. Therefore trust must sit at the centre of all relationships, especially our relationship with God. SHALOM – Peace: God’s all encompassing blessings to you .
