GENESIS 16:13 NIV
“She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.””
It is important for us to know and understand that God knows us.
Our knowledge of him depends on his sustained initiative in knowing us.
The knowledge of God’s love for me causes the scales to fall from my eyes and turns the machinery of my soul in his direction.
Also my knowledge of how intimately he knows me strengthens my faith in him.
I am graven in the palms of his hands.
I am never out of his thoughts.
He knows me as a friend and there is not a single moment when his eye is not upon me.
It was this that Hagar became aware off and experienced when she was
feeling utterly alone, deprived and forgotten.
God saw her and knew everything there was to know about her and whatever she needed.
She said: “I have now seen the One who sees me,” she said.
From the amplified version: “… she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “You are God Who Sees”; for she said, “Have I not even here [in the wilderness] remained alive after seeing Him [who sees me with understanding and compassion]?””
God sees you even in the wilderness.
He sees you with understanding and compassion.
Like Hagar, you will be kept alive.
He is closer to you than you think.
He will meet your needs.
May God’s knowledge of you stir your soul towards knowing him the more.
May he overwhelm you with his compassion and meet your needs.
Remain blessed
