“Those who trust in carved idols will be turned back, And utterly put to shame, Who say to cast images, “You are our gods.””
God has not left the world with no knowledge of who he is.He has revealed himself through nature. However, the world of nature has been affected by the “fall of humanity”. As a result we cannot expect to find a clear revelation of him there. The Bible is the most authoritative Book ever and in its pages we have a clear revelation of who God is and who he is like. No one can get a clear picture of God outside Scripture. The Bible is God’s revelation ofHimself, and unless our thoughts are guided and constantly corrected by God’s thoughts we will go off tangent. We need to remember that idolatry (forming unbiblical notions of God and thus worshipping unrealities instead of God who is reality), is the sin that is most frequently denounced in Scripture. “The unfolding of Your (God’s) [glorious] words give light; Their unfolding gives understanding to the simple … (Psalms 119:130 AMP).” If we want to know God and the reality of who he is, let’s search from Scripture.
